Emerson Fans CF805SWW 52" Snugger Contemporary Flush Mount Appliance White Ceiling Fan Review

I needed to replace the very cheaply priced ceiling fan in our bedroom, which we'd had for years. It had developed a noisy motor vibration on low speed. Fans in the other rooms are Concord huggers (we have low ceilings) but Concord huggers, which are quiet, have heavier motors and are bargain priced, are not made any more so I got the Emerson. The Emerson's motor is smaller than the Concord's, but I think Emerson has been making ceiling fans as long as anybody. No complaints about the motor--it runs quiet which is what I wanted. Although it's about $30 more than the Concords, it's reasonably priced compared to other brands of its blade and motor size. The design is simple but classy. We're very satisfied with the Emerson.

Hunter Fan 23923 60-Inch Grandview Ceiling Fan Lighting, Cocoa Review

Took me a while reviewing fans for out pool area, summers in South Florida are brutal! After lots of research the best option was the Hunter Original Outdoor fan, but at over $500 buying two wasn't an option for us, so we went with what we thought was the next best based on CFM's, and then found that CPO has the Grandview on sale because its the "cocoa" and not the "Bronze". Fan looks great, it does give air but not as much as expected, we have it on high all the time and I definitely need the second one. If it had a higher output and better lighting I would have rated it higher; on the other hand, the sale is unbeatable I'm very pleased that I didn't spend $599 which is the original price.

Absolutely beautiful! Bought it for DD's bedroom, adds so much elegance. However, color has a yellowish undertone and crystals are pink, clear and a bluish-purple. Would've been happier if crystals were only pink and clear but still very gorgeous. Positively no regrets and highly recommended. Casablanca 97032T Mission Ceiling Fan with Inteli-Touch Control, Weathered Copper Review

We paid top dollar for our Casablanca Mission fan which we mistakenly believed was a top-of-the line product and a good company. We invested the extra money intending to make it part of our house - for life. The fan's computer based controller - without which this fan motor/light will not run at all - has failed for the second time, with the fan no longer responding to the controls, it is unusable. Casablanca claims their "lifetime warranty" was meant for the motor only and not the controller. This makes absolutely no sense at all, as the controller is physically part and parcel of the motor in this model, and the two are inseparable to operate the fan. Casablanca demanded upwards of $100 to replace the flaky controller, which we refused. For this money, a completely new, reliable ceiling fan can be bought. I feel Casablanca has failed to honor their warranty, and have employed a very poor and transparent word trick to avoid it. Do yourself a favor, avoid this fan, and avoid the Casablanca warranty (i.e. buy another brand).

Hunter 22462 Beachcomber 52-Inch Five White Beadboard/White Plastic-Blades-Ceiling Fan, White Review

Not hard to install, but when done noticed that too much of the light fixture was sticking out above the glass globe. This is very unattractive. Bought 2 of them, am returning one. Will try to make the threaded pipe shorter so that the glass globe will fit closer to the motor and cover where the chain comes out. I have several Hunter fans and this is the first bad experience.
Also, description does NOT state that the 60 watt bulbs are candelabra bases.

Westinhouse Ceiling Fans 78127 56" Industrial Ceiling Fan Review

This is a great large clean fan. It is built for industrial applications, so if plan to install it in your home be prepared for a few bumps in the road. The downrod is only adjustable if you can extend the rod into the ceiling. I wasn't able to do that and had to hacksaw the downrod to make it shorter. The other problem is the switch for this unit is HUGE...industrial. I was able to buy a standard one at Home Depot but it doesn't go backwards and only has three speed settings instead of the 5 that the fan is capable of. These problems aside, I love my new fan. It's quiet and the design is modern and fits in our new home well.

Hunter 27186 Fan/Light Wall Mount Control Review

So here's the deal.I installed this switch for the fan I just installed, lots of work and was excited when it was done and worked.Not being an electrician and all of that.Several days later I would come into the room and lo and behold it would be on.Then I installed a light kit, imagine waking up at midnight and seeing the light come on all by its' lonesome.

I called Hunter, the problem is a common one and really stems from the poorly written instructions and the fact that the symptom is not addressed in the trouble shooting guide.

The switch is a radio frequency device and therefore stray radio signals bouncing around the house, through the hood, etcetera can trigger its operation.This was a common problem in early garage door openers and car alarms, those manufacturers fixed it by having the devices reset a new code after each use.

Your fix, is to remove the switch from the wall, pull the battery then pull the fan down and reset the dip switches in the receiver.I may take more than one try as there is no way you can easily pinpoint what is triggering your switch.The complete instructions on how to do this are in the installation instructions which may also be downloaded from the Hunter website.

The Minka-Aire gyro Fan is probably a pretty good product, however, the fan I received was defective.I installed it and while both fans worked electrically, one of the fans was binding internally and would not continue rotating.A call to M-A tech support quickly diagnosed the fan as defective and I was told to return it.I can't say enough good about Del Mar Designs, the Amazon Vendor.Shipment was paid by Del Mar both ways and their "No Hassle" return policy was truly no hassle. This fan is easy to install (with several options for mounting). It's ideal for the person who does not want or need a light (though a light kit can be installed). The fan is extremely quiet and moves a good amount of air in both directions.
The motor bearings are lubricated with an oil tank which you must fill from provided oil--a bit unusual but easy to do.

Wonderful, precise and the best, it won't loose dirt/dust everywhere as any other "duster", the shape is perfect, it might take a few tries before you really get the trick on how to use it, run the vacuum after several fans and still worked great without washing it.
My only question: why didn't I buy it before?We used Swiffer's for fan dusting and I used quite a few of them to get 3-4 fans cleaned properly, now it's in the past. I save money and time and the fans look great.

Sometimes, you got to say "What the heck; I can afford it."This is a nice fan.Heavy cast aluminum housing, and, all accenting parts are of a higher end quality than the fans you find at the home improvement warehouses. Mine spins rock steady on a 5' downrod. But, Hunter could afford to add a couple of details/accessories at this price level.A remote control, nice bulbs, and a 24" drop rod would have made it seem 'complete'. Including a remote control would have earned it a 5-star rating from me.

Note: Drop rods are impossible to find, and, few lengths offered, in midnight copper....provencial gold is close, and, a good substitute.

This is my second Low Profile Fan, and my third Hunter Fan in the house.It mounts flush to the ceiling, perfect since i don't have high ceilings.I'll never buy another type of fan again.I have another brand and its noisy!If the room is quiet (while sleeping at night) you can hear the motor run.However, these Hunter fans are very quiet and work great.You can't hear the motor at all. Hunter Fan 28121 60-Inch Tribeca Ceiling Fan, Brushed Nickel Review

This is a great looking, quality fan that has a contemporary style without being over the top. With a 3 blade design and compact motor housing, it looks a bit anorexic compared to more traditional fans, but this is not a complaint. Even though it is a large diameter sweep, it does not look overwhelming. The graphite side of the blades is dark and matte (like a chalkboard), while the brushed nickel finishes look much better and brighter in person than in any photo I have seen online- including the dismal picture on this product page.

This particular ASIN (B00083UKUO) includes the light kit. Many other retailers sell it without the kit for about the same price. I'm impressed by the non-fussy appearance, and there is something about the shade of the frosting on the glass globe that compliments the overall contemporary look. There is an option to install the kit without the globe, however this makes the halogen lights very direct and harsh (though it looks cool).

The included remote control, other than being larger than necessary and cheap feel, is full function. You can turn the fan on/off, change speed/direction, and dim the lights.

It comes with a 7" downrod, which will be too short if your ceilings are >9'.

[UPDATE] I said in the review that the light kit is included. It was when I made my purchase, which came from the Amazon *Featured Merchant* Delmar Designs (who delivered quickly in excellent condition). I now see a photo of the remote appears on the product page. This is not the remote that came with my unit and looks better (hopefully!). Also, the instructions really do suck.

Hunter 83003 Aventine Bathroom Fan with Light and Nightlight, Aged Bronze Review

I really do like this bathroom fan/light. It's pretty quiet compared to our old fan. We installed it where the fan comes on when the light is on. This way with existing wiring, we can use the night light, which I felt was too bright for a night light with a 25w bulb, so we added a dimmer for that, which works great. It was easy to install by dropping it through the ceiling, through the attic. It has brackets that can be extended to a further board. If we used this in a downstairs bathroom, a larger hole would have to be cut and blocks of wood put in to mount to, then a re-patch job. Though this uses two 60 watt bulbs, don't expect a super bright room, because the tinted glass dome reduces some of the light. This was ok for us, because we have additional lights in the bathroom. We do not have it directly over our shower, but I can visually see the steam going towards the fan, where I didn't with our older fan. Looking at the light/ fan at first, you wonder how it would suck it up, but it does have power, yet a quiet whisper sound. Sometimes though, it's nice to have other noise in the bathroom when you do not want to 'hear' stuff. Guess a stereo could be added lol.

Minka-Aire Fans F516-ORB 44" Concept I Contemporary Oil-Rubbed Bronze Ceiling Fan w/ Light & Remote Review

The best feature about this fan is its looks. It is minimalistic with a clean, stylish, sleek, and modern design. It also has a relatively small footprint. The 100W mini bulb produces adequate light for my 12" by 12" size bedroom. Unlike other fans that require the blades to be screwed on the base unit containing the motor, this fan allows for the blades to just slide into the base unit and lock into place - a great feature that cuts assembly time. I was however slightly disappointed that the color of the blades (with a slightly grayish touch) was not identical to that of the base unit (brown/oiled rubbed bronze). This is not a defect but rather the actual color shade scheme of this particular fan. Even on its highest setting, the amount of airflow (air displaced) is not that impressive and hence I strongly recommend that one go with the 52" inch version of this fan that costs only slightly more than the cost of this 44" model. This fan comes with a 3.5" & 6" down-rod but for my 9" ceiling, I would have preferred if the fan also came with an additional 9" or 12" down-rod. The remote is stylish and works flawlessly but I wish there was more space to snug in the remote-receiver in the fan (it is quite a hassle to try to squeeze the remote-receiver in the tight space). Broan 676 110-CFM 4.0-Sones Ceiling Mount Ventilation Fan Review

I purchased this fan to replace a 25 year old Broan after finding my old fan was starting to rust and was not properly vented to the outside wall.The new fan isn't the quietest on the market but for the 110 CFM rating, the price was right! The new fan was easy to install (if you have attic access) and has an easy to remove grill for cleaning.One minor complaint I have is Broan doesn't supply any wire nuts with their fans....

Hunter 21894 52-Inch Westover Heater Fan Review

Installed this fan in a smallish home office as a replacement for an old standard fan. Installing was easy and straight forward. The unit has a small fan for the heater that sounds like small jet engine. Not only is it annoyingly loud but wholly inefficient. I would never recommend this for heating a room, or even supplemental heat. Save your money and buy a nice fan instead.

Hunter Fan Sonic Ceiling Fan - 50" Review

Seems solid so far and puts out a good breeze. Good looking, though in the picture they made it look much whiter than it is.
It took most of a day to install, directions not that intuitive.
I give it only 3 because of the controls. The wall switch turns on the light.it takes a specialty bulb,not a normal,easy-to find-CFL medium base bulb.
You have to use the remote to turn the fan on and the light off. If you lose the remote, or battery runs out (also a "specialty"battery) you literally can not turn
your fan on.Also, the remote seems weak,i have to stand right under the fan and point the darn remote at it and press several times to get it to respond.
A pull chain option,or an option for the wall switch to turn on the fan rather than just the light, would have been great.
Once you get around to putting it up, your guarantee's run out and the packaging is opened,and if you could return it
you'd have to pay shipping back.
I will always have a slight feeling of being "stuck" with this, I didn't know what the remote would be like.

Hunter Fans 23869 42" Low Profile III Plus Traditional Indoor Flush Mount White Ceiling Fan w/ Light Review

My dad always taught me to check the parts list before assembling anything. The first problem I encountered was that it was very difficult to match up the screws included with the parts listed. (The pictures are poor representations of the real thing, and they only list the actual length for two of the multiple varieties of screws included.)

Then, THE MANUAL REFERS TO PARTS NOT LISTED OR INCLUDED WITH THE FAN. I called Hunter and waited for 20 minuted to speak to a representative, all the while listening to a message telling me that they value my time.

Finally, after I conveyed my issue to the rep, she checked and confirmed that my fan model (#23869) has an error involving a manual that had been updated without updating the parts packaged with it,Do they have a kit to help customers with this known problem? Something they can overnight to me to fill the gap so I can install my fan? NO. In fact, she wasn't even sure that the two missing parts I mentioned to her were the ONLY parts I would encounter that might be missing.It was up to me to go through the manual and let her know what I needed. Also, the shipping of parts will take 5-7 business days and if I want it overnighted I was told I would have to pay for it.

While the rep was friendly and as helpful as she can be, I asked her if there was a feedback department or manager I could talk to to voice my complaint. They answer was NO.

HUNTER FAN COMPANY DOES HAVE A CUSTOMER FEEDBACK OR COMPLAINT DEPARTMENT.

Ridiculous. And very disappointing from a company that is supposed to offer some of the better products available. I will not buy from Hunter again.

During our first bathroom renovation I purchased what I thought was a good fan and it was way too loud. Pulled it out and purchased this one. Has turned out to be just perfect. Extremely quiet but it's 'just' loud enough to know it's on and I like that.

We're now redoing our second bathroom and will get another one of these. Don't forget to calculate your bathroom CFM (LxWxH ÷ 7.5) so you know what size to purchase.

Really nice product, has a hook to help hold it when installing which was handy for a one person installation. Wiring not too complicated. Since it has a remote, you have to use a single switch, rather than double as many houses today are wired. Looks as good as the picture. The only small negative is the 100 w halogen candelabra bulb limit the output to ( you must pay $$ for a special order of the higher wattage bulb and no CFCs are available at that level of light output for candleabra). So, this fan needs to be in a relatively smaller room. Remote is simple and easy to use
