Product arrived fine. Packaged well (as most Hunters products are).
Sent quickly from supplier (Thanks, Del Mar Designs)
Only complaint is that information was very limited on Amazon website.
Forunately my fiance had looked around before going on Amazon and had found the same fan light elsewhere.
For anyone interested - the picture is not a good representation of the colour (it's kinda frosted cream I guess, doesn't picture well)
And it doesn't come with lights included - you will need two candelabra base bulbs.
Still a good Hunter product - I suppose information for it might be found on their website.

Fantech Dryer Booster Lint Trap - Fantech Model DBLT4 Review

I just finished a few loads of laundry after installing all new dryer ducting, a lint trap and Fantech booster fan (the system works VERY well). After every load the lint trap needed to be cleaned. OK, it's doing it's job. However, taking off the door involves pinching the spring retention clip, cleaning the screen then reinstalling the spring clips in very small hard to see holes. The spring clip is awkward and the screen is poorly adhered to the metal housing (after 2 loads it's already coming loose). Also, the Fantech Lint Trap housing is very industrial looking (galvanized sheet metal), and doesn't fully recess in a standard wall frame. I'm not sure Fantech could have put less thought into how this lint trap would actually fit into a laundry room and be used. It needs to be cleaned often, which will likely be the least desirable step in the entire laundry process (including folding and putting clothes away). I am actively looking for an alternate lint trap solution. I am convinced that the lint trap is necessary (the dryer vent isn't catching all the lint), but there must be a better solution out there! (no complaints about the Fan - it's quiet and works perfectly).

This is an expensive fan -- at the high end of the range for ceiling fans of this type.But I liked the look and the fact that it uses an energy efficient fluorescent bulb.The fan ships direct from the factory, and the first fan I received was the wrong fan packed in the wrong box.Poor quality control at the Emerson factory.Still, these things happen, so I returned it and got a replacement about a week later.

The new unit was the right model, but still had several problems.A deformed housing is probably the biggest problem, causing the blades to be out of alignment, and causing a severe wobble -- especially at the higher speeds.

Problem 2 was that the "maple" blades advertised are actually ugly plastic blades with a fake wood pattern printed on them.Very cheap and disappointing.

The bulb is advertised as dimmable, but this isn't the case.It's pretty much on or off.There is the slightest change in brightness when holding the dimmer button, but it is almost impossible to even notice.Turning the light on and off sometimes requires a "double click" on the remote, other times, just one click.Confusing and hard to use.

Lastly, the remote is extremely problematic.The 20 foot advertised range is greatly overstated, as the remote only works from 3 - 5 feet away (you have to be directly under the fan for it to work).And even when standing right at the fan, the remote only works some of the time (and with a very noticable delay).

For the price (or at any price), this is an extremely low quality fan, with poor quality control from the factory.Best to avoid.

I have had two of these fans in some of my bathrooms.Both were LOUD and short lived.My parents had a similar fan as well and were quite dissapointed with them.Neither of my units lasted more than two years without having to replace the motors (I've even cracked the motors open myself and relubed them).Even the warranty battle has been dissapointing... Without writing a book, I have had some other general problems with these units related to electronics and plastic bezel.I have replaced the unit with a less expensive, heavier constructed, and quieter unit made by Hunter.Music to my ears and much more reliable.

We broke the bank an bought this fan to top off the remodel of our outdoor porch. It is an absolute show-stopper. The materials and craftsmanship are terrific, as you would expect at this price. And even at its highest speeds it is amazingly quiet.

All that said, it has one great drawback: it does little to actually move the air.

At this price we were expecting the Big Three to want to borrow it to power their wind tunnel tests. But from distances exceeding two feet, it's feels like a hand blow-dryer on low. I actually called the company to see if I was doing something wrong. They shrugged their shoulders (over the phone) as if they've heard this complaint quite a bit. On really hot days we pull out our $17 oscilating fan from Wal-Mart. It performs much better.

So this fan is truly the case study for form over function. If you need a great prop for a movie set this is the fan for you.If you actually intend to use the fan as a cooling device, you may be disappointed.

Searched and read many reviews looking for a quiet, retro table fan to replace two old but ugly Sanyo table fans, one with about a 9" blade and the other about 12".Though Hunter's, Restoration Hardware's, and Minka Aire's retro fans all look similar, I liked the Minka Aire's bullet shaped back (and lower cost than Restoration's.)

After relatively easy assembly, I was SO disappointed when I turned it on. The lowest speed is very noisy and too windy.(I know, I know, it IS a fan, but I'd like the option of a gentle breeze.)The Minka Aire at its lowest speed is noisier than either (or both!) Sanyos at their highest speeds.Adding to the loudness is the annoyance of the disturbing, uneven little surges the motor makes, even when it's not oscillating.Not a noise to meditate to or sleep by.

I grew up with house fans, and this one worked just the way I remember it. Open a few windows, turn the fan on and... a lot of air gets sucked in the open windows. It's great on cool evenings after a hot day. Small children passing too close to the windows are liable to get sucked through when this thing is on. It's not too noisy either. It does make noise, but the belt drive system seems to help make it run quieter. I wouldn't instal it in the middle of the living room, but it's not loud enough to disturb you if you put it in a hallway. I will say that the shutters are a little cheap. But they work the way they are supposed to. They close when the fan is off, to what looks like a mostly air tight seal.

I used this fan at a triplex I own where the room was rather small and steamed up very quickly.I didn't want to exhaust to the attic because the building is rather old (90+) and had very limited crawl space in the attic to make sure there was proper ventilation.My choice was to exhaust through the wall and opted to mount the motor outside to reduce noise.It does a great job of removing all air from the bathroom during a shower, and although not silent, it's not too objectionable.I am installing my third one and the other two seem to be working great.It's a little tough to get the RVF 4, as most places, including Amazon are backordered on them.You can find the RVF4 XL, but it uses a lot more power than the simple 4.

The vent I was boosting is on the floor and I was hoping the AirFlow would work better than my Suncourt EQ2. I should have done a little more research online before buying. One website indicated that the AirFlow would boost 60% while the EQ2 boots 80%. My thinking was that two fans would be better than one. Unfortunately, that didn't turn out to be the case and the EQ2 does have more boosting capability.

However, the AirFlow works and the design is nice in that it fits into the vent instead of over the vent. My floor vent isn't in a high-traffic area so this feature wasn't a benefit since my EQ2 wasn't likely to be tripped over or kicked around. The flush design will work in a wall vent which is one advantage over the EQ2. The AirFlow and EQ2 generate about the same noise level.

As with any lamp, styling that suits you is paramount.In our case, this lamp is just what we were looking for.We've had the Casablanca predecessor to this lamp over our dinette table for 23 years and still think it's perfect.(Check with casablancafans dot com to see if your fan will accommodate this lamp kit, before ordering.)

The lamp comes with a pull chain in the center.The chain switch has four clicks: off, two lamps on, the other two lamps on, four lamps on.Although all four lamps point straight down in the attached photos (choose the color name of "Snow White" to see Customer Images), each lamp can be swivelled up to nearly 90 degrees; once positioned to the angle of your choice, the lamp stays put.

This lamp requires candelabra based bulbs.It comes with four 40w incandescent bulbs which we replaced with 13w candelabra soft light compact florescent bulbs.The CFCs are equivalent to 60w incandescents and are plenty bright because the exposed bulbs have NO glass globes restricting the light output.With the small 40w incandescents, the bulbs were 1.5" back from the shade end.The CFCs are nearly flush with the shade end.

To install this lamp, remove the bottom cap of the fan and unscrew the 3/8" fan pipe screw that's in the center of that cap.Screw this lamp's threaded "pipe" into that cap and secure it with the included lock washer and nut, attach two wires (hot & neutral), and reattach the cap to the fan.

This is my same review as the 30" version of this fan, they are both identical except for the size of course.

One star off for the cheap louvers, however there are upgraded aluminum extruded avaliable for a few dollars more. Now this is not a whisper quiet fan, it is however much quieter then the unit The Home Depot sells. You will know this fan is running so avoid placement near family/living/bedrooms. This unit comes with a high and low switch in decora style and have found it to be of good quality. Other then a set or two of louvers that got damaged during shipping I've had zero problems with all the units I have installed, and knock on wood have not had to replace a single motor. I find the motor supplied with this fan should last 10-15 years depending on how much you run the fan. I would highly avoid DIYers attempting an installation unless you have a good concept of framing and electrical as you will need to remove a joist to install this fan, the only exception would be if you got a set of truss style louvers and had an additional attic access hole large enough to fit this fan. The packaging the louvers come with have a template to trace onto the ceiling so you know where to cut, my advice when cutting out the template is to cheat inward on the line about 1/8th of an inch so you don't accidentally cut the hole too big. IMO the louver template is just sightly too big. I also recommended a spring round 12 hr timer which can be ganged together with the high/low switch if you know what you are doing. Overall a fantastic product, I'll continue to buy this fan for years to come. For the money it can't be beat.

This is a higher quality unit that the vent i replaced.I had to replace my pervious unit after the people who sealed my attic also sealed the vent shut.

The local utility contracts attic and house sealing as part of an energy conservation program, your tax dollars at work.I do not know what it will do for my heating bill but they did seal my attic vent closed.

I had to do a lot of adaptation to get a good mount but this may be becuase the people who installed the last one did such a bad job.I had to make a frame and secure it in place and then attach teh vent to the new frame.I made the frame from 1/8" by 1" lath.

The vent baldes are counterbalanced by a spring.The instruction specify that the spring be tensioned to just let the vent close.This is what ai did and in tests both sides closed relaibly.ON installation one sice stays open.Any touch will close them and if I push the vent open with a stick it always closes.Every time the fan wind opens it, it stays open.I suggest you be sure the closure is very secure.I only need it closed at the end of the season, so this issue a mild annoyanceOtherwise it's an excellent product.

This really is a beautiful item. Lit up, it is simply gorgeous. I have it attached to the Chantal Fan in my dining room. My husband wanted a fan and I wanted a chandelier and this turned out to be a great compromise. The shades are actually a little lighter than they appear in the picture. The only negative that I have is that the crystal pieces all attach with these little gold clips that you insert through holes and bend and they are very thin and flimsy. Make sure you bend them as tight as you can when you attach them to the fixture because one of my crystals slipped out of the hole during the installation and cracked. I don't know that I can find a replacement.

We live in a hot climate and have fans in every room...and light kits to go with them.These lights are by far the best looking we have ever found.And, they emite plenty of light -- unlike the "tulip" kind that you so often see.We put it on a white fan...and the brushed nickel looks great.The only downside was the box was beat-up on delivery...and only by luck loose parts didn't fall out in shipment.The workmanship was a little rough on the several of the metal parts...which made for a bit of a challenge putting it all together, but did not affect the looks at all. There isnt much to say. It's a piece of pipe to lower your fan away from the ceiling.
I have a 17 foot vaulted ceilings that comes too close to the fan blades if left as they were. The fan needed to be lowered
a few inches more than the downrod provided with the Hunter fan. This did the trick for me.
It matched the bronze fan perfectly and was easy to install. These come in different lengths.
Just measure carefully, and purchase the best one for you, so your fan isn't too low or high.

White Metal Ceiling Fan w Enamel Blade Finish Review

I bought this nice looking utility fan for my 2-car garage. Special-ordered from Lowes for the same price listed here.
The motor isn't reversible. A very bulky 5-speed wall switch is included in the box. Fan comes with a 1/2" x 12" downrod and j-hook mounting bracket. The j-hook won't accomodate a wireless controller, and it offsets the downrod from the center of the fan box.The offset was pretty noticeable since I used a surface-mount fan box. I suppose I could replace the j-hook with a universal ball and ball hanger to fix that.
Anyway, the reason I decided to take this back to Lowes is that it just doesn't move a lot of air. If I am directly beneath the blades on the highest setting, I feel a light breeze. If I step anywhere outside the 56" diameter of the fan, I don't feel anything - although it sounds like it's blowing a lot of air. I guess the problem is the shape and pitch of the blades. They look almost flat and parallel.
I replaced this fan with a Hampton Bay 60" Industrial fan, and the difference is night and day (and $10 cheaper). Of course it's a bigger fan, but I still expected more from a 56", as my garage is 18.5' x 20'.

Just bought and installed this.Installation instructions were a little difficult due to very poor quality pictures.It looks pretty nice, although I'm still trying to warm up to the shape of the light fixture portion.I really don't care for the down-facing light, which seems to flicker a bit.I think it has an electronic pulsing dimmer which I don't care for.I might just bypass the remote and use a traditional wall dimmer for the light instead.The blades feel a little cheesy.I think there's better, higher quality products out there for the money.

I ordered this product for our upstairs bedroom vent to help cool the room. The thermostat to control the fan speed is a great idea, but ours doesn't consistently run only when the AC kicks on. When it does run, it's not exactly quiet and kind of annoying. However, we do manage to sleep through it fine. Overall though, I gave this product only 2 stars because it doesn't force that much more cold air into the room. It would also be helpful if the vent slats were directional. Running the fan function by itself (not with the AC) produces no extra cold air, only air movement.
After purchasing one, I hoped it would work at least okay to purchase another for my upstairs office. Instead, I'm shelling out the money for a free standing AC unit. I'd advise you to do the same if you want cold air.

We ordered these because they worked beautifully with the hardware in the house and the 2" wood blinds. How very easy to assemble and it allows for a light kit. If there are two switches for fan motor and one for light it is easy to find a ceilinglight that conforms to the small fitter hole. You need to run a separate line to tie into the blue wire for the light.
Didn't need the balance kit it is so smooth and quiet. " Energy Star " which is a huge bonus. I heard that Emerson is leaving the USA because of the Cap and Trade. TaxSorry to see such a wonderful company leave. The smooth finishes on the metal parts are an example of good workmanship. I have other fans made elsewhere and they have cut me, Oh well get them while available they are wonderful.

I bought this switch for my son's room and it's really fine but I found a much better switch for my family room.

This switch needs 110 volt power.It doesn't need to be connected to the fan because this is a wireless switch.

The WT150 (this product) uses a battery and that's the main reason I don't like it compared to the CT100 (no battery).

In the American Midwest we get hot summers and cold winters--and incredibly large heating and cooling bills. Wanting to reduce the temperature of our house and lower our utility bills at the same time, my wife and I invested in the gold model from Reiker, and it worked great for two years.
When it stopped working this past winter, I gave Reiker a call and asked them if there were some quick fix that I could do, to which the very abrupt woman on the phone said, "Do you have the model number, sir?"
I flipped over the remote and read to her, "MODEL: FAN-15T."
"What is that? I don't know what that is. You have to give me the model number, sir."
"That is the model number from the back of the remote," I said, but it didn't do any good.
"Sir, you have to give me the correct model number," she whined.
Knowing that they only make four fans, three of them being the same fan just in different colors, I told her which one I had, but she cut me off and said very loudly, "Sir, you have to give me the model number. We cannot help you without the model number!"
I asked her where I could find the "correct" model number, and she said that the only place that it could be found is in the owner's manual--not on the fan, the remote, or even the box that it came in.
When time allowed several weeks later, I went to our storage unit where we kept the box with all its related paraphernalia, and pulled out the owner's manual, and gave them another call this morning.
Strangely enough, the model number wasn't so important this morning. She didn't even ask for it. She didn't ask for much of anything. She did ask if I had changed the switches in the back side of the remote, to which I replied that I hadn't. She suggested I give that a try and then reset it, which I did, but was rude enough to ask her to stay on the line while I tried it with the fan. Disgusted with my desire to keep her on the line, she put me on hold for 4 minutes.
When she finally came back, she asked if I had done that, to which I replied, "Yes, but it appears to be to no avail."
Then the claws came out again. "Well, sir, do you have the receipt?"
"Yes."
Apparently not expecting anyone to still have their original receipt, she asked again, "You have the receipt?"
"Yes, I sure do."
"Well, you will have to mail the motor to . . ." and gave me an address to King of Fans in Ft Lauderdale. She then told me that I would have to mail a copy of the original receipt, the motor, my name, address, phone number, description of the problem with the fan, and the remote to them--along with a check for $37 for the King of Fans to ship it back to me.
"Whoa," I said. "You do not service your own fans? And you are going to make me pay for everything?"
"You have to pay for the shipping both ways, sir," she growled.
I told her how disappointed I was with the fan and her company, to which she had absolutely no reply. I waited for her to give some kind of answer, but she never did. I finally said, "goodbye," and she hung up as soon as the word was out of my mouth.
Now that's not what I would call great customer service. And a $379 fan should last a lot longer than two years. I'm sure that if we mailed the motor to Florida, the King of Fans would find a problem with it unrelated to anything that Reiker would cover in their "Lifetime Limited Warranty", so I believe I'll save the additional expense and frustration and buy a regular fan from a decent company.
I think, all in all, the fan may have saved us $75 in our heating and cooling bills (interesting to note that if we sent the motor, that savings would be entirely used up in the shipping), which leaves $304 that we now have spent on a very large paper weight.

I put 3 of these fans out on my patio which is good sized and has a 12ft cieling at the highest point. They look realy good and I get a lot of compliments on them. they don't rotate that fast even on high but the fans are so big they still move alot of air. The low setting is so slow that it realy doesn't move any air. I used 3ft extension rods and I had to use the balance kit that come with the fans on 1 fan to keep it from wobling to much, the other 2 were fine

I was told by my electrician that most of the cost of producing fans is spent on the motor.So, buy a more expensive Hunter fan.I bought the "Grand Isle" for my bedroom and it is much better and has a remote.

This is the quietest fan I ever used.If I did not see it moving or if there was no breeze from it, I would not have known whether the fan was on. Fortunately, the fan works very well at three speeds (forward and reverse).I also like the fact that the four lights accomodate standard size bulbs.I was able to place standard size replacement fluorescent bulbs without any problems.I love the fact that I can place four 23 watt fluorescent bulbs that is as bright as four regular 100 watt bulbs.Practically all the fans sold at Home Depot or Lowe's nowdays will only accept the small candelabra bulbs because of some senseless government regulations. Installation was relatively easy, especially with a hook on the ceiling mount which allows you to hang the motor unit to it while you connect the electrical wires.The DRAWBACK is that it does not have a remote control(what do you expect for under $100?), which does not seem to matter if you are able to reach the pull chains (extension is included but I purposefully did not attach it because of our rambunctious kids).Overall, I found this product to be well made, and I ordered 4 more in addition to the original 2.
UPDATE - within a week of writing the review above, I received the shipment of the 4 more that I ordered.UNFORTUNATELY these four were not the same.They only accept candelabra size bulbs.I guess the previous 2 that I bought (that accepted the standard size bulbs) were the old model.I am going to have to shell out more money for the candelabra size(AKA "intermediate base") fluorescent bulbs, which are 1/4 to 1/3 as bright and 3-4 times more expensive (about $4 each, after searching the internet for the cheapest at 500 lumens) than the standard size (AKA "medium base") fluorescent bulbs.Even though I have to get 16 of these bulbs for the 4 fans, I find the quality of the fans to be well worth it.
FINAL UPDATE (I PROMISE) - I was browsing through the internet and found a site that inexpensively sells(for under $2) an adaptor that lets you use a standard size bulb on a caldelabra base outlet.I am going to use this instead of paying for expensive candelabra size fluorescent bulbs.Please send me an e-mail if interested.

This fan is beautiful and distinguished.I like the metal tips on the fan blades.I purchased two of these fans; this one and another Stealth in gloss black.I installed this one first.I opened the box and removed all the "fixins" from the pockets before I took the top half of the styrofoam out of the box.After I removed the foam I was curious why it was so heavy and wondered if there was something stuck to the underside of the foam.I turned over the foam to see what was stuck to it - to be rewarded with the sound of glass crashing.I hadn't noticed there was a pocket on the top of the foam with the glass in it, covered by another piece of foam.When I turned it over the glass fell out and happened to land on the metal fan housing and broke.I suppose it was good to land in the box so I didn't have glass all over my floor?I called the number for customer support expecting I would have to buy a new glass.Wrong!I got as far as, "the glass was broken..." and he said they would get a new one out to me FedEx.He didn't even ASK me how it came to be broken!I borrowed the glass from the gloss black fan so I could install this one.A week later (it was Thanksgiving weekend) I received the new glass and installed the other fan.

The fan itself is very good and what I was expecting.

The only draw back of this fan was that the installation insturctions are totally generic and do not apply specifically to this fan.Due to this the installation of the blades to the motor was time consuming to figure out as the generic instructions indicated to mount the blade on the bottom of the motor ring while in fact they have to be mounted to the top of the motor ring for this fan and since it is obcured by the attached light assembly it is not obvious to see this.

I would give this fan 4, maybe even 5 stars, if the included wall control was remotely intelligent, but it pisses me off every time I use this fan, so it seriously takes away from my overall enjoyment of it.Let me just start off describing the wall control unit:there are two buttons and a rocker switch.The top button cycles through the fan speeds and the bottom button cycles through the light brightness, then the rocker is a master on/off switch.Each time you hit a button, there's an annoying audible series of tones that changes in pitch that is supposed to tell you which fan speed or brightness level it is on.Let me just say that I have owned the fan now for at least 6 months, and I have no idea how many brightness levels or fan speeds there are.It goes something like this:Slow -> Medium -> Fast -> Fastest -> Off.Try to imagine being able to tell visually the difference in fan speeds and you'll understand how completely stupid this is (or try to remember and decipher the audible morse code).For the light, the only definitive change is going from brightest to off.They could have made this 5x simpler, 1000x less annoying, and 5x faster by just replacing this brain-dead method with more buttons.

With that said, the fan itself is attractive and works quietly.However, I would hesitate to buy any more Casa products because I fear that they'll use this common control mechanism.In another room, I have a Minka Aire fan that, with a single push of a button, I can get exactly the light or fan speed I want.This drastic difference makes it even more annoying that I have to put up with the Casa control unit.

We bought this fan and it worked fine for the first 2 years and then it would turn itself on and heat without warning. While it did operate previous to the malfunction it was noisy and breezy to sit under. It almost defeats the purpose to have a ceiling fan that heats. It trips the breaker now and cannot be used at all. Please do not waste your money on this pretty yet useless heating ceiling fan. We will be taking it down and removing it soon. If you have bought this and need one for parts, contact me.

I bought this fan because it (a) is a hugger fan, meaning it's not very tall, (b) is available in white--so it tends to blend in with the ceiling color, and (c) does not require you to use a remote control (I already had two wall switches for it and many of the remote control ones won't let you wire for use without the remote AND maintain full control).

SAFETY NOTE: There are two nuts on this fan, one at the top and the bottom.They are probably metric, about 19mm (or 7/8"), so they're pretty big and easy to find.First thing you want to is make sure both of these nuts are cranked down good and tight and the top nut retaining clip is in place.This is not in the instructions.Mine came from the factory LOOSE and when I turned the fan on, the bottom section (which contains the lamp) rotated--it shouldn't do that--causing the pull chain ornaments to rise up and catch in the blades and get ripped off and flung across the room.

No damage, not even to the fan, but you definitely don't want to go through that.

Otherwise, very happy with the fan, definitely does not overpower the room, which has 8' ceilings.

I bought off ebay for $153 (after ebay 10% off coupon when paying with PayPal) + $15 S/H.

Vornado CR1-0119-06 Whole Room Air Circulator Fan Review

Like other Vornado fans with their vortex grills, this one moves an immense amount of air for its size.

I had the chance to compare its output side-by-side with another little fan I like, the Holmes Blizzard, and this Vornado (called the "Edge") blew the doors off the Blizzard!

I have not had the problem with a high-pitched whine that another customer alluded to, but my unit did develop an annoying rattle at high speed.

I found I could eliminate the rattle temporarily by tightening the screws on the back of the case.Unfortunately, the motor is so powerful at high speed that the screws would soon come loose again, and the rattle would resume.

So -- I installed locking washers under the screws on the back of the case (totalling sixty cents in parts), and I believe I have solved the rattle problem for good.

This is the reason I deducted one star -- customers shouldn't be doing Vornado's engineering for them!

Otherwise I use this fan both on the floor and on the shelf of a window too small for most box fans, and it excels at circulating great quantities of air.

This is a gorgeous and well-designed fan.The manufacturer has used quality materials to achieve first-rate performance and a beautiful look.I anticipate that it will provide my family with many years of faithful service, and draw numerous compliments for its dramatic appearance.There's just one little problem:for the first few days after installation, it SMELLS.It's not an "electrical" or "burning wires" smell, but a smell that is vaguely reminiscent of a magic marker.After doing a bit of googling, I found that this problem is rather widespread by customers who have purchased Hunter fans over the past several years.The general consensus was that apparently during production, they use either a chemical dip or some other process which coats the fan motor and takes awhile to "burn off."This supposedly creates the smell.I contacted Hunter Customer Service several times about this.The first rep contended that she had never heard of this particular problem, and said I could return the fan for a replacement.(It was at this point I did the googling.)I then contacted Hunter again and the second rep said he usually told customers who called with this complaint that the smell should go away "after 24-48 hours" of fan operation.I found this to be the case (although after about a week, I still smell the faintest hint of magic marker after running the fan on high only.It's nowhere near as noticeable as when first installed).When I browsed the internet for the best deal before I made my purchase from Amazon.com, I noticed that most merchants were offering a great price--and one even had the fan marked for "clearance."Now - after the fact - I'm wondering whether this was as a result of customer complaints about the smell.In any event - I'm keeping the fan for the reasons I mentioned in the first three sentences of this review.However, I can't give it a 5-star recommendation.

I bought this Bulbs from pure instinct, my 2 52Oz Lava Lamp' Bulbs died and I needed a replacement, and from the instructions that came with the Lava Lamps, you are not supposed to use different spec bulbs (40W / 120V) or you could damage the Lava Lamp.. So I spent a few days looking for the replacement bulbs with no luck, I found these in Amazon and they looked pretty much like the bulbs that got damaged so I went ahead and order this 2 Bulb Pack (Perfect for me since I had 2 Dead Lava Lamps) and when I received them I compared the bulbs.. They looked almost the same, so I went ahead and install them. It's not 100% Perfect Fit, more like 98% Fit but they have worked great and my Lava Lamps are alive again :D

So I went and tagged this bulbs with the word Lava Lamp, so the next person can find these to replace their damaged Lava Lamp bulbs ;)

I bought 3 of these fans for our home.

Pros:

Looks modern
Decent watts per air moved
Remembers settings, even after power outage
Optional flush mount kit
Remote control can be either wall mounted or kept as a loose remote

Cons:

All 3 units I received were warped (oval, not circular)
Not very quite - can hear electrical humming when on lowest speed
Blades feel like cheap material
Lighting just mediocre - bulbs are recessed so half of light output is coveredAll of the fans I purchased came warped.Here is a video of one of them: [...]).Notice the dome isn't circular, it actually scrapes against the light fixture in one spot every time it rotates.Monte Carlo at first tried to deny it was their problem, I'm still trying to get them to own up the problem but given the iffy quality of the fans and their less great customer support, I would recommend folks to stay away from this fan.

The fan was easy to install like a typical ceiling fan replacement and is stable, smooth running and quiet. I ordered two of these and both arrived with broken globes. I called the correct toll-free number to request replacements but no one will return my calls. I have called six times and left messages with four different people who all tell me that Lisa Somebody (I forget her last name) is not in her office right now but they can take a message for her. I realize now she will never call. I combined good globes to make one complete fan. One is unusable. Hardware House doesn't package the contents to survive shipping and they know it.

In the American Midwest we get hot summers and cold winters--and incredibly large heating and cooling bills. Wanting to reduce the temperature of our house and lower our utility bills at the same time, my wife and I invested in this beauty from Reiker, and it worked great for two years.
When it stopped working this past winter, I gave Reiker a call and asked them if there were some quick fix that I could do, to which the very abrupt woman on the phone said, "Do you have the model number, sir?"
I flipped over the remote and read to her, "MODEL: FAN-15T."
"What is that? I don't know what that is. You have to give me the model number, sir."
"That is the model number from the back of the remote," I said, but it didn't do any good.
"Sir, you have to give me the correct model number," she whined.
Knowing that they only make four fans, three of them being the same fan just in different colors, I told her which one I had, but she cut me off and said very loudly, "Sir, you have to give me the model number. We cannot help you without the model number!"
I asked her where I could find the "correct" model number, and she said that the only place that it could be found is in the owner's manual--not on the fan, the remote, or even the box that it came in.
When time allowed several weeks later, I went to our storage unit where we kept the box with all its related paraphernalia, and pulled out the owner's manual, and gave them another call this morning.
Strangely enough, the model number wasn't so important this morning. She didn't even ask for it. She didn't ask for much of anything. She did ask if I had changed the switches in the back side of the remote, to which I replied that I hadn't. She suggested I give that a try and then reset it, which I did, but was rude enough to ask her to stay on the line while I tried it with the fan. Disgusted with my desire to keep her on the line, she put me on hold for 4 minutes.
When she finally came back, she asked if I had done that, to which I replied, "Yes, but it appears to be to no avail."
Then the claws came out again. "Well, sir, do you have the receipt?"
"Yes."
Apparently not expecting anyone to still have their original receipt, she asked again, "You have the receipt?"
"Yes, I sure do."
"Well, you will have to mail the motor to . . ." and gave me an address to King of Fans in Ft Lauderdale. She then told me that I would have to mail a copy of the original receipt, the motor, my name, address, phone number, description of the problem with the fan, and the remote to them--along with a check for $37 for the King of Fans to ship it back to me.
"Whoa," I said. "You do not service your own fans? And you are going to make me pay for everything?"
"You have to pay for the shipping both ways, sir," she growled.
I told her how disappointed I was with the fan and her company, to which she had absolutely no reply. I waited for her to give some kind of answer, but she never did. I finally said, "goodbye," and she hung up as soon as the word was out of my mouth.
Now that's not what I would call great customer service. And a $379 fan should last a lot longer than two years. I'm sure that if we mailed the motor to Florida, the King of Fans would find a problem with it unrelated to anything that Reiker would cover in their "Lifetime Limited Warranty", so I believe I'll save the additional expense and frustration and buy a regular fan from a decent company.
I think, all in all, the fan may have saved us $75 in our heating and cooling bills (interesting to note that if we sent the motor, that savings would be entirely used up in the shipping), which leaves $304 that we now have spent on a very large paper weight.
